Our story

Flyingstart Montessori School is a private co-educational Montessori school established to carter for and groom the tomorrow’s people. The school was established on January 2008 by Mrs. Adedayo Jinadu, a retired Nigerian banker who has served in the banking industry for over eighteen years. On start-up, Flyingstart Montessori School was intended to take in only children between ages 0-5 years, with the vision of being the best Montessori pre-school founded on truth, excellence and integrity in raising the total child.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Out of her passion and high interest in early childhood education, Mrs. Adedayo Jinadu sequel her retirement from the bank, started nurturing the idea of giving back to the society by opening and running a quality pre & nursery school with high and sophisticated pre-school amenities on a low and affordable price .  After necessary planning, logistics, deliberations and prayers, the long awaited vision of Mrs. Adedayo Jinadu kicked off on January 2008 in a well suited environment at 3 Johnson street, Off Bode Thomas Street, in Surulere Lagos State Nigeria.

THE MAJOR CHALLENGE

To the glory of God, Flyingstart Montessori School was running smoothly with lots and lots of pupils between the ages 0-5 from all corners of the metropolis.  But there has been this major challenge confronting the school, and that is graduating nursery pupils leaving to primary school in another school (since Flyingstart is only a pre & nursery school) The problem is not the pupils graduating to primary school, but the threat is that when they are going, most of them leave with their younger siblings in the school mainly because most parents find it difficult to be dropping their children in two different schools and others prefer their children to be in same school. This started affecting the school population and became a major threat on the school life and continuity.

THE BIRTH OF PRIMARY WING

Mrs. Adedayo Jinadu, being an innovative woman refused to sit back and watch her life’s vision and passion go down the drain. She made some effort in orienting the parents and offered to make transport provision to ease the inconvenience of dropping and picking of children. Though that was a wonderful plan and solution, but it didn’t work. And that was how the primary wing of Flyingstart Montessori School started on September 2015.

The school opens from 6:30 am to 6pm, Mondays through Fridays, with mature and experienced staff that are able to recognize, respect and nurture the individuality of every child.
